Wow, Moving Really Sucks!

Holy Crap, where do I even begin?

Well, the place we moved into has potential. Unfortunately it was buried under layers of filth. Yep, layers. of. filth.

We started out scrubbing the kitchen walls and found a different colour underneath! It was like a treasure hunt!

Not to mention all the great dust I found on the molding, dating back to sometime in the '80s I wager.

But the best was the Asbestos tiles. Actually, that was lucky, because they turned out to not be asbestos, but we lost a few days waiting for the test results.

So it is now Nov. 11. We have been here for 12 days and nothing is unpacked. (including my camera, so I can't post any pictures)We are waiting for quotes from painters, and hoping to get the flooring done sometime in December.

The tiles were removed by me with great difficulty, and we're now trying to decide if we can sand the glue off, or get new floors put over top. I guess it depends on what's actually possible. I'd prefer to sand, but whatever is going to happen first is fine by me.

So basically right now, we're all staying wherever we can for the next while.

The house is too smoky for us to live in right now, even after all the cleaning, so we end up leaving the windows open and sleeping in our jackets. And dang, it is freezing here right now.

Why couldn't we have moved in the summer? Or better yet, after all the renovations were done?
